The Youth Ministry of the Seventh-day Adventist Church (IASD) in Chile has designed the “GPS Action” project, which will mobilize young people to evangelize within their communities throughout the country through various missionary strategies.

GPS is the acronym for “Salvation and Service Small Group (Grupo Pequeño Salvación y Servicio),” which is made up of young members who meet during the week to strengthen their Christian communion and relationship with their peers, in addition to attracting and sharing the Word of God with non-Adventist friends. In Chile, the youth ministry has 387 GPS.

“Action = Action”

The intention of this project is for each GPS to define a place to evangelize within their community. Although the project covers the entire year, the first phase, which lasts a month, will be to go from house to house every Saturday to visit other young people who live in the defined place and share flyers with attractive content related to mental health, networks social, prophecies and Bible.

These periodic activities will ensure that each young person is in missionary action every week. Under this approach, the project was named “GPS Action.” This approach will undoubtedly facilitate progress in the following phases with those who express interest in participating in the programs to which they will be invited, such as Youth Worship, GPS, "Friendship Month," Youth Evangelism, and others that are planned.

The Launch

The project launch was broadcast on the official social networks of the IASD Chile on YouTube and Facebook. It was led by Pastor Remo Díaz, departmental of the Youth Ministry of the IASD in Chile, accompanied by his peers who lead the southern metropolitan areas, south-central Chile, and the Pacific area.

“We believe that youth can make a difference by fulfilling an effective mission,” said Pastor Remo, highlighting the boldness that Adventist youth have when it comes to doing something more to preach the message of Christ and his soon return. And he added that, “we are in difficult times, the topics of the flyers are topics that are in vogue. We believe we can do something more. The motto of the youth in South America is “Maranata,” and that is what we have to do: announce that Christ is coming.”

The first three topics that will be delivered in the flyers are: Do you know what an addiction without substances is? What do you know about the 2030 agenda?, and The mark of the beast 666.

The other phases of the project also involve missionary challenges aligned with the evangelistic programs that the ministry has set for 2024, which, as they are carried out, will be recorded in the Book or magazine of the route: “An effective missionary adventure” of each GPS.

“The time has come to stand up and raise the flag of Jesus Christ, there are people who need to hear that Christ is coming and that He can save us,” said Pastor Bryhan Ruiz, Youth Department of the Southern Metropolitan Mission of Chile , who was present in the launch program.
